Kyocera joins Mopria Alliance as executive member

KYOCERA Document Solutions Inc, one of the leading manufacturers of document imaging solutions and document management systems, has joined the Mopria Alliance.

The Mopria Alliance is a non-profit organisation created, which has the goal of simplifying wireless printing from smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices.

The Mopria Alliance aims to develop a standard interface that will allow users to connect to any printer – regardless of the manufacturer – with virtually any mobile device.

By standardising mobile printing technologies, the Mopria Alliance will enable mobile app developers and other industry players to focus resources on innovation and new features beyond maintaining basic print functions.

By joining the Mopria Alliance as an executive member, KYOCERA is confirming its stance as an active participant in the pursuit of standardised, intuitive and wireless printing environments.

“This is a concerted effort by software designers, OS providers, mobile device designers and printer manufacturers,” said Ryuzo Morita, director of KYOCERA Document Solutions and senior GM of its Corporate Strategy Planning Division.

“Our mutual goal is to achieve intuitive mobile printing in any environment, regardless of location or platform. It’s where today’s mobile uers want us to devote our attention.”

Joining the Mopria Alliance is the latest strategic initiative undertaken by the company to expand the capabilities of its award-winning KYOCERA MFPs and printers.
